A 25-ton Chinese booster rocket will crash into Earth today. What is the risk?

The core stage of a Chinese Long March 5B rocket is set to fall uncontrollably back to Earth today in a re-entry that China is closely monitoring and has said poses little risk.

The approximately 25-ton (23-metric-ton) rocket stage, which launched on July 24 to deliver the Wentian Laboratory Cabin Module to China incomplete Tiangong space stationit is predicted to re-enter from the earth atmosphere on July 30 at 12:15 pm ET, give or take 1 hour, according to researchers at The Aerospace Corporation’s Center for Orbital Debris and Reentry Studies (opens in a new tab).

  1. Next time I read a blog, Hopefully it wont fail me as much as this one. After all, Yes, it was my choice to read through, however I truly thought you would probably have something useful to talk about. All I hear is a bunch of complaining about something you can fix if you were not too busy seeking attention.
